The meaning of home

When you hear the word home, what do you think of? Everybody thinks of different things when they hear that word. The word home can mean a place of happiness, joyful and carefree! But for other people, home can mean downhearted, sorrowful and even miserable. For me, the word home means childhood memories, my safe place and of course, my family. For me, the meaning of home can mean childhood memories. Memories that I can hold onto forever. Holiday traditions, songs and sports, fun and exciting adventures. For example, every night on Christmas eve me and my sister get to open one present and it is always matching pajamas. That is our holiday tradition. My family and I have been doing this tradition for so many years now and it is just so fun to open up our pajamas and wear them on Christmas morning. One very important thing for me when I think of the word home is my safe place. Home is where I am very welcomed and loved. I can trust everyone in my household. I have a nice sheltered home and it is very warm. Being able to feel safe in a home is very important. Of course, when I think of home, one of the first things that comes to mind is family and friends. They help me feel welcome. I can trust them and I can be myself around them. And I don’t know what I would do without my dog. Whenever I am upset, I can always go to him and he will calm me down. Family is a very important thing when it comes to the meaning of home. The meaning of home can mean different things to different people. But the meaning of home to me can be narrowed down to three different meanings. My childhood memories, a place where I can feel safe, and the most important to me, my family. Everybody thinks of different things when they think of the word home. It can mean a bunch of different things to everyone! What do you think of when you think of the word home?
