The meaning of home

Home is different for everyone. For some people, home is a safe, calm place that they can relax in and look forward to. For others, it might be a place that they fear, and could never feel calm or relaxed at home and would rather stay away from home. So for some people, home is an uncomfortable place, and for other people, home is a wonderful, comfortable place where they can spend time with family and friends. What makes a place home for me is not just the place itself, but the scent of my home and being with family, along with the wonderful feeling home brings for me and my family. And for me, you can make any place into a home if you have your family. The feeling home brings is wonderful for me. The calm, peaceful, comfortable feeling is great when I am stressed, or having a bad day. I feel very safe and welcomed in my home. It is never uncomfortable for me when I get home from school, or climbing, or anywhere else that is away from my home. The scent of my home is also very comforting and special. It is a different scent with every home, but every home does have a scent. Being at home with the comforting, calming scent is always the best thing for me at the end of a stressful or bad day. The scent is so welcoming as well, so I also feel welcome when I come home every day. Being with family and friends is another big part of home for me. It is comforting to know that at home, around family and real friends, I can be myself. I do not have to change the way I act around my real friends. When I’m with my friends at my or their homes, like my friends Marissa, Ashley, Jade, Rory, Chase and Katelynn it always makes me feel welcomed and special. And being with my three german shepherds, Khaos, Karma and Barek, as well as being with my family, like my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and my parents, is what makes me feel at home. I love the feeling that being with my friends and family brings when I am in my or their homes with them. Home is a special place for most people, but some people fear home. To me, the meaning of home is the scent, feeling and being with family and friends. Home is certainly different for everyone, but everyone should have a place to call home.
