What home means to me

Home means a lot of things to me. There are some things and some people that make home feel like home. Here is what home means to me. Home is somewhere with my family. Every supper we all eat at the table together and ever since the pandemic began we’ve been together all day every day. During Covid we’ve had to find things to do at home since we’re at home almost all the time. We play on our Nintendo Switch together and we have a lot of family movie nights. Our movie nights have increased a lot during the past two years. Home is somewhere safe. It’s also the structure of a house that makes it feel like home. My own room and our big backyard are some of the things that make it feel like home. I’ve had my own room ever since I was two and it’s one of the things that make home feel like home. Our backyard is where we have the swingset, the rink in the winter and just run around. We’ve been in our backyard a lot more during the pandemic. There are some items that make home feel like home. I love books and reading so I need a lot of books for it to feel like home. I get lost in the stories. For example, right now I’m reading a book series called The Land of Stories and it’s all I can think about. Also, the swingset in the backyard makes it feel like home. I go out and swing there almost every day because it’s relaxing and I started this routine during Covid. My writing is another thing that makes home feel like home because I really like writing. I write my stories on my Chromebook and I use pencils for school and everything else. I go through pencils really quickly and I use them until they’re one inch long. Home means a lot of things to me. There are some things and some people that make home feel like home. That’s what home means to me.
