In My Home

In my home is love and laughter, Even though most of the walls are covered in plaster. Every day I wake up with a smile, Captured on my face, While down the stairs I race, Colour surrounds me as a I run, The colours shining bright from the sun, Making me run faster, Looking from room to room and seeing in each one, the love and colour within, Such as in the kitchen, a lovely smell greets me at the door, I grab my breakfast, waiting for more! As I run more I see more colour, like the office, stern chocolate brown, I run and see all the books beside me, Covered in dust, I take just a little touch, Then remember, there is more! I run and see my room, blue. like the sea, Shining bright for the world to see. I run back downstairs, and look who's waiting there! My family greet me with hugs and kisses while my dad washes the dishes! I smile, knowing that my house means so much to me, Not just the building, but the people and things alike. My heart swells and just like that, It starts all over again!
