The Beaver's New Home

Once upon a time there was a family of beavers. They lived in a dam on the river. One night there was a big storm. The next day, the sun came out, and the beavers went for a walk. Then it started raining! The beavers ran back to the river. When they got back, they saw the river had flooded and their precious dam was broken! The beavers were devastated. Now they had no home! They decided to look for a new one. Meanwhile, a lonely fox lived in a cave not far from the beaver's old home. He was happy he had a home, but it's not as fun having a whole house to yourself! So the fox decided to look for a friend to share his cave. Meanwhile, the beavers were deciding where to look for a house. After some thought, they decided to go to the city. They have lots of houses there. The fox also decided to go to the city. (There are more people there.) So the beavers and the fox set off for the city. When they got there, the beavers started looking for a house. The fox was also looking for a house. Maybe if someone didn't want it, he could offer them to live with him, The beavers had found a good house, but there was one bedroom. Disappointed, the beavers were about to leave, when the fox arrived! “You can live with me!” said the fox. The beavers were scared, but the fox promised not to eat them. The fox's cave was perfect! The beavers offered him the best log they could find. (Foxes don't eat logs, but he took it anyway.) Then the fox offered the beavers a flying squirrel. (The beavers don't eat meat but he worked hard to catch it, so they accepted it.) The fox and the beavers lived happily ever after! The end.
