A Place to Call Home
I walked home from school on just an ordinary day
My home greeted me in every single way
My parents came and wrapped me in their warm and safe embrace
My sisters came and grabbed my hand so I would join them and play
And here comes my dog jumping up on my knees
This is what home is, having family
I slip on my shoes and outside I go
I laugh, play, and jump as the calm breeze blows
I fall but my sister catches me
This is what home is, having safety
Later as we all sit down to a nice home cooked meal
We talk about our day, what happened, how we feel
Home is home, home is me
Surrounded by friends and family
Home is a wonderful thing and with that
We should all help habitat
Everyone deserves a place of their own
And not just a house, but a place to call home
