HOME SWEET HOME EAST OR WEST, HOME IS BEST

What is home? If one looks in the dictionary the answer would come out to be, “The place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household”. However, for anyone who has had an actual home, they would know that such a word goes beyond its description. Home is not a place… it’s a feeling. What I love most about my home is who I share it with. Home is a place where you feel safe and comfortable. I believe that a home is more than four walls and a roof over your head, it is the feeling that greets me when I walk through the door. It is the people who wait for me to get home when I’m at school. Home for me is made of moments, experiences that teaches me to be a better person. My home is also people and when home takes on a human form it is called FAMILY. Family is what makes a house a home. A home gives people a place to care about the people that mean the most to them. Home is when you know you are with people that can drive you insane in a second, and the same people can make you happy in a second as well. A home is nothing if it doesn’t remind you of the things you love. There are things about your home that are special to only you, that’s why it’s your home and only your home. The best part of having a home is being able to look at a piece of it and see a memory. I could tell you millions of stories that have happened in my home, but that would be like telling you my entire life story and there is simply not enough time in a day. To you, the small grey house with white door behind two huge trees looks like some old building. To me, it is the place where I’m learning to live. It is the place where I’m figuring out who I am today. To you, it is a house, to me it is my home.
