What Home Means to Me

To me, home is where my family is. Home is where I can live and learn peacefully alongside friends and family. It is the place where I can come back to after a long day at school, and just relax. Home is a place where I usually feel happy and calm. Home is often a place where you have been for a long time, but not necessarily. Home does not have to be a building either. It can be a place like the beach, or a forest. It can even be a person, or a memory. No matter where I am, I always remember home. It has a special place in my heart, no matter where I am or who is with me. If I was a tree, home would be my roots, supporting me, giving me strength and stability. Everyone should have a home, yet some people do not. It is not a luxury, but a necessity. All over the world, many people don’t have homes. This problem is getting bigger and bigger due to the difficulty of finding affordable housing. It is estimated that 150 million people are experiencing homelessness worldwide. 150 million is a lot. This ever-increasing problem needs more attention. People can help by donating and volunteering at places like soup kitchens, or organizations that help people that are experiencing homelessness.
