Home isn’t and was never a building to me. Home isn’t an amazing apartment or a majestical mansion or a cozy cottage. Home is with your family and friends. Home is where your best memories are made. Home is where you feel safe. Home is your tent while camping or your hotel while on vacation. Home is a place to go. Home is somewhere to stay. To me, home is everything. Home is time spent with your family. For me, my family was never just my blood relatives. Family is someone I can trust and love. Home is where I can argue with my siblings and play board games with my family. It’s where I always win at chess and play with my pet’s and friends. Home is the people, not the building. Home is where you have many happy memories. It’s where I made muffins with my mom and fished with my dad on the docks. It’s where I learned so much from my family and friends. It’s where I read my favorite books. Home isn’t just where you are happy, home is where you were happy as well. Home is where you feel safe. It’s a place where I can sleep without worrying. It’s where I can take cover from any type of weather. Whether it’s rain or snow, a hurricane or tornado, home is where I am, and will always be safe Home is where you feel safe but many people can’t afford a house because of the high house fees. They can’t protect themselves and their family and they can’t stay safe. Because of this, there are many people living without a house everywhere. Habitat for Humanity is an organization that can help with this huge problem. They are people who want better lives for everyone.
