Home

What home means to me. At home there is always family. When I come home from a long day from school, or when I come home from a sleepover, I am always looking forward to seeing my pets and my siblings. At home there are always memories made, no matter if they are funny, sad, happy, or heartwarming they are still good memories. When my family and friends are altogether that is what makes my home, my home. At home there is always love but there is more than that in a home. At my home we always celebrated the holidays and have gatherings, before Covid-19 happened, and it was so fun! At home there are a lot of special keep sakes. When I am at home, I feel safe and protected, and when I go to sleep, I am not scared. All the time at home me and my family would have movie nights where we would sit in our basement, and wrap up in blankets, have lots of popcorn, and all sit together. When I am at home there is always love, laughter, peace, and kindness. That is what makes a home for me, that is what home means to me. My grandparents lost their home to a house fire. I was not even born yet but my mom was pregnant with me. My grandparents were away, my uncle went over there to check on the place and he phoned my grandparents and said, “Your house is on fire.” My grandparents came rushing home and my parents came to their house too. They called the fire department, but it was too late. They lost everything, but the community came together and helped build their new home. In their new home we made so many more good memories.
