My home

For me, home isn’t a thing. It’s not a house, it’s not a building. It’s a feeling. Home is for family, comfort, and creating memories. It’s the happiest feeling a person can ever feel. Home is my family. Home is playing games with my dad, who I can always sit next to and talk to. Home is being with my mom who comforts me throughout the struggles and the worries. Home is laughing with my brother who I can always wager with in any sport. Home is snuggling with my two dogs who are always laying next to me. Family is the thing that makes home so special. Home is the feeling of comfort. It’s being tightly wrapped in a blanket watching a movie with my family. It’s the comfort of my dogs laying down on my chest when I try to fall asleep. It’s being able to sleep on a smooth mattress every night. The warm feeling of comfort makes home feel special. Home is creating memories. It’s the memories of being in the pool with my family, splashing water on each other and drinking ice cold drinks. It’s the memories of watching Superbowls and NBA Finals with a worried feeling in my stomach. It’s memories of Christmases and birthdays. Home is the special memories that stick with you forever. Home is for family, comfort, and creating memories, but families who struggle to afford a home can’t feel and create all of that. Habitat for Humanity is helping unfortunate families by helping them afford payments, make them feel secure, and to help them feel that happy feeling of home.
