The Feeling I call home
“Home isn't a place, it's a feeling” (Ahern,n.d). Home is a concept that I have not been able to fully grasp. It is to my understanding an abundance of emotions such as happiness, love, safety wrapped up in a location that we call home. I am going to try to explain what home is in my definition. First of all let's talk about happiness. My home is a place filled with joy and such. It feels like it is the place where I belong. That feeling of happiness makes me not just feel whole but it also makes me feel an enormous amount of happiness and love. Next, we have how our home fills us with a feeling of safety. To me my house is not only somewhere where I feel happy and loved, it is also somewhere where I can unwind and can just really feel safe. To me, my house feels almost like it's surrounded by an unbreakable barrier. I feel at peace and calm. Lastly, the memories that our homes carry. Home is a place that is familiar. You know the place, it may be where you grew up,or somewhere you hang out with those who are close to you. The point is those places are filled with memories and that is what makes our homes so special. I am glad to have a home of my own, and as Ahern(n.d) says “Home isn’t a place it’s a feeling”.
