Safe and Loved at Home
For me, home means safety and love.
I feel safe in my home. First, I am safe from the weather. Just the other day I went out to play in the snow. It was freezing. My fingers and toes were numb. I was wet and I was tired. As I stepped in the door I was so grateful I had my home to protect me from the bitter cold.
At home, I am safe from danger. Once I was running to catch my bus. All of a sudden I came face to face with a raccoon. It was only a meter away! It stared at me unblinking with its black beady eyes. I took off in the other direction. I was glad to be far away from the raccoon in the safety of my home.
My home is a safe place to express myself. I am able to share my opinions and troubles. I like to express myself at the dinner table. I know I won’t be judged and I have my family to support me through my triumphs and defeats. It makes me feel heard.
Finally home means love. I wouldn’t feel at home if I didn’t have my parents to love and support me. At home I feel safe enough to have all the emotions. To laugh. To cry. To shout. To jump for joy. It makes me feel loved.
I think everyone deserves a home. Home means safety and love.
