What Makes a House a Home

Three of the many things that I think you need to make a house a home are safety,freedom to be yourself and above all family. The first thing that makes a house a home is safety. If you live in a house in an unsafe neighborhood you probably won’t be happy. If you are not happy the house will not feel like a home because in a home you are free to do or go wherever and whatever you want as you please. If you live in an unsafe neighborhood you won’t feel safe playing music or watching TV because that makes noise, you probably wouldn’t even be able to go outside. Also if you know something bad might happen like a robbery or a car theft,you probably will not like the house or feel comfortable living there. So your house won’t feel like a home. The second thing that makes a house a home is freedom to be yourself. In a house you won’t feel free to do or say anything but in a home you will feel free to do or say anything. A home needs to have freedom to be yourself because if you aren’t comfortable there it will not feel like a home. Another reason why in a home you need to feel free to be yourself is that if you don’t feel free to express yourself you will start feeling depressed and not want to be at your house which means it will definitely not feel like a home. The last and most important thing that makes a house a home is family. It could be any type of family biological,step,adopted,roommates,big,small and maybe even pets. They could live in your house or maybe not. If you don’t have a family you will feel lonely and probably won’t be that happy. The house just won’t feel like a home because you won’t be as happy as you would if you had people around you. You need a family to have a home because you need people to help and support you. This will make your house a home because you will have people that care about you,without family your house will just feel like an ordinary house. That is why I think safety,freedom to be yourself and family are really important in making a house a home. Though there are other things that make a house a home I think these are the most important things that you need to have a home.
