What Home Means to Me
What home means to me
I believe that home is where your heart is. It is a place where you feel safe, loved, happy, accepted and very comfortable. You sleep, eat, play, celebrate and you do thousands of other things.
In your home you create memories by spending time with your family. You celebrate holidays, birthdays and more depending on your traditions and culture. In my family we celebrate Christmas and go to church at midnight to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. In other families, they may could celebrate Hanukkah. Also, I have a tradition where I eat a big dinner and my family comes from different places on Christmas Eve. Your home is also the place where you grow up, so it’s where you become an adult and where you get more mature.
In your home you can feel fully accepted, you can be yourself without the fear of a lack of understanding. You can even do silly things and your family will still love you.
In your home you are safe, believe me, there is no safer place in the entire Universe. It is your special bubble that protects you from the external world, which is not as nice as you want it to be. And to add, you can count on everybody inside. Your bubble is only accessible to the people that you love. Also it’s a place where you can talk to your loved ones if you had a bad day. Your little bubble is really important in your life.
In conclusion, I need to point out that I travel often with my parents, I stay, sleep, play and eat in different places, sometimes very exceptional ones, but do I call them home? No, because it’s much more than this. I don’t even have the words to fully describe how I feel at home. Home is a place like no other.
