My home

To me home is not a house nor a building. To me home is the feeling you get when you know you’re exactly where you need to be. Home is something that will always put a smile on your face no matter what happens, whether that feeling of security around the people you love most or the memories you make with them. For me family is the foundation of a home. For me that might be a hug from mom and dad or a kiss on the cheek from my dog. Home can be on Friday when me and my family snuggle up on the couch, put on a movie and order some food or me and my family playing a board game or two on a rainy day. Family might be the foundation to a home but security is found within the walls. To me security is the warmth I feel when I feel the embrace of my dad when I wake up or a light kiss on my forehead by my mom in the morning. Security is feeling of going to bed safe of the worries of frostbite and waking up with a smile on your face. That roof of a home is found in the memories you make with the people you love most. To me, memories are of the warm summer days I spent soaking up the sun with my mom or jumping in a lake and enjoying the water with my dad. Memories are the rainy days spent watching a movie with my family or even making bracelets with my sister. Some families worry about where they will sleep or how they will afford food. Habitat for Humanity if helping provide people with the opportunity that everyone should have, to create their own meaning of home.
