Meaning of Home

What home is to me? Home is the laughter and kindness that comes from my family and the feeling of security as I lay in my bed. Home is the freedom of being able to go outside or explore with no violence or worry about getting hurt. Home is where I belong. Home is family. I love the stories and adventures of traveling around the world that my parents tell me and that they use their time to create new ones with my brother and I. I enjoy amusing sports and video games I play with my brother. Home is baking cookies, movie night and dressing up in silly costumes. Home is spending time with my family. Home is security. Many people think of home as happiness and I agree, but it’s extremely challenging to remain content when you’re not in a secure environment. I am very grateful for the safety in my house with my family because I know many people suffer from an experience in the cold and violence. This could have a giant impact on children my age and would easily affect how they grow up. Home is freedom. I am so glad that Canada is a free country because many kids and adults have witnessed tragedies in different countries with war. But in Canada and near my neighborhood, worry isn't a huge deal at all. Stressfulness happens from time to time, however everybody gets it. We're free to go off on vacations and travel around the world, getting to know different people and having fun with my family. I love how Habitat for Humanity is supporting people's needs. I think it’s great how they allow people to be a part of building their home and giving an affordable cost to each and every one of them.
