What Home Means to Me
Home means love and happiness to me, but it could mean hate and sorrow to other people. The people who live in tents, cars, and the side of a road do not have the luxury of feeling safe, secure and at peace when they rest their heads at night. I am so lucky to have a house that has running water, working electricity, and a roof to shield me from the rain. I feel safe, happy, comfortable, and peaceful when I close my eyes. I want everyone in my community to know what that is like. I want all people in the world who are poor or down on their luck to know what it is like. Home is not the same for some families. Some people do not have enough money to get clean water, fresh food, and a roof over their heads. This is not fair, not right and not just. And together we need to make a change.
A home is a place to rest your head, feel safe and make memories with your family. Let’s give everyone the opportunity to feel that way.
