Home is a Place to Protect
Home is a Place to Protect
By: Finn Smith-Giesbrecht
Home is a place to discover
A place to stash and collect
A place to come back to
And a place to protect
Think less of a house and more of a home
My heart carries my memories wherever I roam
My home smells of mom’s baking
And tastes just as good
Why not go share some with the neighborhood!
As soon as I come home
I hear our dogs claws
Scampering on the smooth floor tongue hanging from her jaw
Home can sometimes be frustrating
But our bond is strong enough
To weather those challenges
Though they may be tough
Old fashion treasures clutter my shelfs
As I read fantasy books about lions and elves
Home is special, home is good
Though it is not always sweet roses and love
My home fits me perfectly…
Just like a glove.
