House Versus Home

When I walk into my house I see, feel, smell, hear, and taste a lot of things. Some of these things don’t mean much. But some of them I can’t let go of. Have you ever heard of tangible and intangible? Tangible is something you can feel and touch, and you also see it with your eyes. Intangible is something you feel, like it’s floating in the air but you just can’t grab it. For example, this is what I feel as intangible in my home: love, learning, happiness, being helpful, childhood, fun, some challenges, kind and welcoming hearts. Most of all, I feel how everyone is supporting and grateful. See, look at it you just can’t grab these things. These are things that can make you feel like you're actually loved. On the other hand, tangible is like these things: table, fridge, bed, backyard, sleeping, vacuuming the stairs, eating at the dinner table from your leftovers. I smell cooking food, like mom’s lovely meals. I feel my mom’s hugs. I’m not saying tangible things around your house aren’t important. Actually, both tangible and intangible things are important. Your house is where you survive; you can sleep, you can eat, you can feel those things in your hands. Your home is something you can’t feel in your hands, but in your heart. As much as they may try to, no one can replace this home of yours in your heart. Even a family who is ‘homeless’ has a home. They may not have a house, but as a family, they will always have a home. When people look at a homeless family, they may say that the family doesn’t have a house. Even though they don’t have a house, they still have a home. House is a protection but home is happiness. I am actually writing this essay for my home, a loving place where I will always feel welcomed. When I say I love my home, I actually mean it inside my heart. WIth all these people around, it is easy to feel like you're in a wonderland of yours. Everybody deserves to have fun so to have fun they need to have a home. When I say I love my home I don’t mean the stuff inside my home I mean how loving the place is.
