The Meaning of Home

My home is much more than just a house. A house is a place built for people to live in. A place to provide shelter. A home is a place to live with our families and pets and enjoy with friends. The meaning of home means a lot of different things to different people, but you need a house to make your home. My home is where I was raised. It's where most of my memories were made, like taking my first steps. It's where I keep all my important things. You walk in and it has that familiar smell, that smell of comfort. What I love most about my home is who I share it with, my mom and my dog Shyla and the love that we share. My home is my comfort zone, a place where I feel safe. This has been extremely important the last few years with the Covid-19 pandemic. Knowing that you have a safe place to be and the love of my family made things a little bit easier for me. My home ended up not only being my home , but it became my school, my dance studio. I can’t imagine going through this pandemic without a home. A home can mean a lot of different things to different people, but I think most would agree that a home is a feeling. A place full of love and laughter that provides us with a sense of belonging. A place where we can truly just be ourselves.
