TRUE MEANING OF OUR HOMES

T.S Eliot.’ Home is where one starts from’. Many people think homes are just a block of concrete and bricks. However, “home” has a significant meaning in one’s life, and we cannot associate our lives without them. This essay will highlight three reasons as to why our homes are the places not just made out of construction material but where we belong to. Firstly, a home is where we thrive and learn. Our homes are our first schools. We learn many things such as our values, morals, skills, cultures, traditions, and vice versa. Additionally, the family members living in the home give and learn from each other, such as our elders passing on knowledge towards us. Thus, our homes help us to thrive and learn and make up our identity in the world. Secondly, homes are where we belong to. For instance, wherever we go around the world, we come back to our home, which is our safe heaven. We also make many memories of our homes. For example, many milestones of life is passed in one’s homes such as, birth, wedding, get together etc. Additionally, our homes become our lifelong connection and become a portion of our hearts and souls, so we will always belong in our homes. Lastly, our homes keep us safe from terrible weather, give us social and emotional security, and endless calamities. Likewise, in our current COVID-19 situation; governments have indicated us to stay in our homes, preventing us from the virus. Our homes always keep us safe from outside dangers. In conclusion, home is not just a construction material assembled but it’s a vital place in one’s life; as it’s our first school, it’s where we belong to, and it prevent us from calamities. Thus, our home is our identity.
