My Home Poem
A home is a four-letter word with one syllable.
But what’s the meaning? Well, I simply can’t leave you dreaming.
A home with highs and lows, sadness with happiness,
Grief along with relief, but let me be brief,
When I think of a home a blanket of love wraps my heart,
I feel free and so much glee.
A home is a safe place with family, somewhere you can live happily.
My home was once piles of dirt, and with great exert, is now a home.
But I still sometimes roam, wondering what makes a home?
Maybe it’s items like a simple garden gnome, or first steps and milestones.
Home is where I stay day by day, where I grow and grow as days go.
Whether your home is big or small, cherish it all.
Together all as one, let’s help those without a ton.
With the help of Habitat for Humanity, let’s make a family share the smiles.
Smiles that come from being sheltered, from having a home. Smiles that go as far as miles.
