Home and Memories
Running up the stairs
Seeing my breath in the air
It is cold
Unlocking the door
To warmth and care
But what if
It wasn’t there
More than you think
There are people out there
Their noses pink
They have no home
No memories of joy
No favorite doll or toy
No warm bed
That I can sleep in
No food or drinks
That I love
My house isn’t very big
But it is there for me
And it has memories
The stairs that I have run up and down
Every single day
The bedroom that I sleep in
And the kitchen full of possibilities
But there is still
The cold and lonely streets
And so many people trying
To obtain precious heat
Habitat for Humanity
A source of hope and joy
Helping those in need
And keeping them off the streets
Building homes
That are more than just a shelter
Or a place to eat and sleep
But building amazing memories for you to forever keep.
