The Meaning of Home

‘Home’ is defined as a place where one permanently lives A building 4 walls and a roof No mention of the feelings it gives Not all have a physical home to go back to But inside, there’s a memory Of people and things that make up the meaning of home As familiar as tying your shoe Brother and sister make time for you Running, playing, and fun will do Monopoly and comedy going around the room But this is just my story My feelings of home that I am telling you While my family my home Is connected to one specific place The feeling of belonging never fades No matter age, time, or space I wish everyone could ground their memories At a physical place, like me One organization works hard to provide this Habitat for Humanity So I hope you can join me In supporting building homes for those in need And although home is a feeling Not a place Everyone deserves a safe space to plant the seed
