What Home Means to Me
A home can mean different things to different people. For me, home means safety, love, nature and pets.
I feel safe in my home because my family and friends are with me and my neighbours are close. I am safe from the wildlife that sometimes comes around our backyard at night.
I love my family and pets and everyone around me in my home and they love me. They show their love for me in many different ways, like taking care of me when I am sick, or by thinking of fun things to do. For me, it is important to be around my home.
I love to go outside and walk around in nature as much as possible. I love it when deer, foxes, birds and other animals come into my yard. There is a large forest behind our house, and Lake Simcoe is just across the street. In the winter we like to go snowshoeing in the forest and my brother and I like to break the ice that forms in areas of the forest. In the summer, we like to go swimming in Lake Simcoe and get ice cream at the store which is down the street from our house.
My brother and I are very lucky to have many pets. We have a dog named Winston, two gerbils named Sunshine and Maple, and a fish named Ralph. These creatures are so important to me. I love to cuddle up with them and play with them every day.
These are the things that mean home to me.
