The Meaning of Home

This is my story about moving, the ups and downs, from leaving family to go to a new house. I always knew that house and home were very different. A house is where you or your family stay and live, but home is you with the people you love and care for. The hardest thing for me was to realize that I was not leaving my home, but I was leaving my house. It made me feel better already. Do you ever think about how your family is different from everyone elses? My family is unique. No one has the same family as mine. My house has unique things; not everybody will have the same things that are in my house. People who are in my family are unique because they are my family. Uniqueness is in every home. Uniqueness is my family, I am part of a home, a unique home. In my home there is always going to be someone who will accept me. Acceptance is part of love. Acceptance makes me know and feel like I belong. It can be easy to feel loved when I know that I am accepted. When I feel acceptance I know that I can go back home. Everyone has a different way of being accepted in their homes. Acceptance is a part of family. When I think of family I think of love. My family will always love me. Think of the home you have, that was built with family. Love can be one of the many things I feel when I am in a loving family. The homemade food I get to eat could be from a family member. My house is like a bed for my home, it can be relaxing, fun and loving. This is why I know that home (not house) is a place of love, laughter and care. Home is where I can feel like I am unique and accepted. Home can be with your family or just with friends. It does not matter where my house is, the part that matters is that I am at home with the people who love me. Even though moving was hard, to know that I was loved and accepted in my new home was all I needed.
