The Meaning of Home
A home is a place to warm up, or take a break, lay down and feel safe. We often take it for granted as not everyone has a home. We often just go home and carry on with thing and don't think about it. A home is a place to hang out, spend some family time, invite some friends.
If I didn’t have a home, I’d probably be cold on the streets in the winter, when it gets -30° I'd FREEZE. I’m so grateful for a home with heat and A/C in summer. When I drive past someone that is sleeping on a bench in the cold, it is just so sad to see. If I ever was cold and on the street and had no home not even knowing if I will even eat dinner tonight, I would be miserable.
When you wake up and go for a morning drive, then you think “I’d love some breakfast”. So, you drive to a breakfast place, and you see a homeless person. Some people might just drive by and don’t stop to help. But some people might stop and give them some money or give them some nice warm food. Sometimes I wish there were more homeless shelters and not just food help, but housing help.
I’d feel great about being able to help some people in need. And some people might need more help than other people. But if my dad or mom needed some help I'd be so happy to hear about this Habitat for Humanity program.
A home is a place to be comfortable, and to have some family time, to hang out with your friends, and I am so grateful for a home with heat and A/C and that my home has my family all around me all the time. Now a home means much more after hearing about other families who don't have one.
