The Meaning of Home
Home. Home is something you take for granted. Home is somewhere to cry, scream, sleep, have warmth and something to be thankful for. It doesn't matter how big or small or if you are living with a roommate, that’s great too because you are giving someone else a HOME.
When you’re a kid, even an adult and you have a home, many don’t really think about what home IS and what it MEANS. Sometimes you need to take a moment and have some gratitude for your home. Think about the people who don't have a home and are living on the -30° streets. Or who have to live with a friend on their couch. As long as you have people who love you under the same roof, you’ll be alright no matter the situation you’re in.
If I was in the terrible situation of not having a home, I would be lost. My home is everything to me. If I lost my home on one random day, I would cry myself to sleep. I always wondered what it would be like without a roof over my head or without warm heat or A/C.
I wish there were more shelters around so more people could have a warm shelter that resembles a home. I know that people say building homeless shelters increases criminal activity, but that isn't always the case and giving someone a home makes you feel good. More importantly, it makes the other person feel good and comfortable and relieved.
A house doesn’t need to be the biggest nor the smallest, just as long as you’re happy with it. In my opinion if everyone had a home, everyone would be happy. There’s probably a reason the Government doesn’t have as many homeless shelters as they should, but still I think everyone would agree on having more. That’s what the Meaning of Home means to me.
