What Home Means to Me

I have a lot of things that home means to me but one of the main things that home means to me is that I can learn more of my culture. One of the things in my culture is my language. My first language isn’t English, it’s actually Chinese (Cantonese). So, it’s interesting to learn my language because I’m learning more of my language from talking with my Mom and Dad and other family members. Another reason why I like my culture is because of all the delicious foods. My parents make the best foods so the foods are even better. Parents + delicious cultural foods = tasty explosion! Another thing that home means to me is the hobbies I do. A hobby my friends and I have in common is we play video games. We can call each other and play games like Roblox, Minecraft and Fortnite and we all have fun together! Also, one of the main reasons why I play games is because I don’t like being bored. I kind of like being busy doing some sort of activity because I don’t like being bored. (Of course, I don’t like being busy with un-fun activities like shopping for clothes.) Finally, my last main reason for what home means to me is where I feel safe. I feel safe almost everywhere but I truly feel safe at home. I have my family and the stuff I like there and these things make me feel comfortable, safe and happy. “Home is a place where everyone likes, no matter if it’s a place you live in, a place you like or a place you dream to one day be there, anywhere can be called home in your mind.” Henry - 2022.
