What is Home

A home is a place to feel safe, loved, and free to be yourself no matter what. A home is not a roof above your head, it can be your family, friends, or even your family pet. Some people think a home is a mansion with everything they want. Others think it’s a house with everything they need and a few things they want. A few people think it’s a shelter with everything they need. Some think a home is a place to be with family and friends, and that’s what home is. You might get in fights with your parents or siblings, but their place in your heart will never be gone. In your home, whether it is real or imaginary, is everything you love. Even if you move into a new house, your home will always stay the same. It will always be your safe place. Houses get old and they wear out overtime, homes last forever, even when you pass away. Houses have walls while homes have no boundaries. Houses can be robbed when you’re not careful. On the other hand, a home will keep you safe through anything. Home will make you feel loved and appreciated. There is no place like home. No home will be the same as yours. Nothing will ever break your home. Home will always stand tall. Because home is freedom. And nothing beats freedom. For those who are not as fortunate, Habitat for Humanity is helping to build safe houses for underprivileged people. I am glad that I’m helping someone who needs a home. Together, we can make a difference and change someone’s life.
