The Meaning of Home

“Home is where the heart is.”, is a saying that I’ve heard a couple times. A home is different than a house, even just the word ‘home’ can sound comforting (least that’s what I think). There are multiple reasons as to why a home is different than a house. For example, home is like the feeling of getting used to the house you just moved into because it isn’t until you’ve developed memories and certain feelings in the house, until you can really call it a home. Home is also like the feeling of comfort, like if it’s a certain room, or certain memories in that room, or just the whole house in general. Home can bring a sense of nostalgia as well. It’s like you come home from a long day of school or work, and you decide to contemplate on your whole existence. Your whole life from beginning to present day. And as you’re going through your life, you see all the memories you’ve made in the home you were once in, to the home you are in now. I mean, all of this sums up what I think the definition of a home is and who knows, maybe your definition of home is similar to mine.
