Meaning of Home

How do you describe a “home"? The way it makes you feel? Or where your family is? For me, it’s a mix of everything: the sounds, the smells, the people and the culture. I was born in Ontario and I loved it there. I like the feeling of a busy city and the way everyone is connected. No matter where I move and where I go, I will always hold Ontario and Toronto close in my heart. That to me is home. Everyone's definition of “home” is different, and I think we all have a right to feel at home wherever you live. No one should be forced to live out on the streets because they can't afford a house or even an apartment. We all deserve to feel safe and welcome in a community. I want to help people any way I can. I want to help them get a house or food, or just some spare change. You never know what is going to happen when you're out on the streets and that is scary. If you are on the streets, you're not in control, you don't have stability or a safe place to come back to. We all need a home, no matter where we come from or what our background is. That’s why I think habitats for humanity is a great idea. Your giving people a second chance to have a home and a good, happy life. I admire that. So, thank you for making our community a true home.
