Home to me

Home is a small word with a big meaning. Home to me is more than material things. Home to me is family, it is celebrations, it is making memories. In my home, my family has a motto: Live, laugh, love, Lavoies and this defines HOME for me. We live by carving pumpkins, decorating the Christmas tree, building snowmen, baking cupcakes, dressing up for Halloween, playing board games and doing puzzles. We live by watching movies, eating meals together and even doing chores. We laugh by telling jokes, celebrating birthdays, swimming in the pool, having friends and family over, playing with our puppy and spending time together. We love by cuddling on the couch, giving hugs and kisses, helping each other, reading together and even doing homework together. When I think of home, I think of good food like ice cream on a hot summer day, Tacos on Tuesdays, and even mom’s yummy spaghetti sauce. When I think of home, I think of my dad teaching me how to ride a bike. I think of my Papa painting my bedroom the perfect shade of blue. I think of shooting hoops on the street with the neighbors. I think of building forts with my sister. I think of Grandma dropping off donuts for a treat. When I think of home, I think of my mom decorating the table for every holiday and taking lots of pictures of everything we are doing. I think of dancing and singing just because we like the song. When I think of home I am happy, I feel loved and I am grateful. Home to me is a place that has all these things.
