A Home Needs

A home needs shelter and food. A home needs a family, love and pets like my cats, Rex and Raven. A home needs a living room with a TV for video games and movie nights. A home has a warm fireplace and needs to feel safe. A home needs to be taken care of. A home needs fun, it needs lots of LEGO, nerf gun fights, bike rides and a trampoline in the yard. A home is funny with laughing at the dinner table, with a lot of Dad jokes. A home has good food like pizza and tacos. A home needs stories before bedtime. A home needs ice cream and celebration! A home needs a good neighbourhood with friends. A home has kindness and understanding. A home is a place for birthday parties and visits from family and friends. A home needs holidays and sleeping in on Saturdays. Home has music playing, laundry going, people talking, dishes being put away, and a lot of noises. Home gets quiet at night and the doors are locked. Except for the barking dog next door, who comes just when I lay down in bed. When he stops and goes inside to sleep, then so do I. This is my home.
