What Home Means To Me
To me, home means security, safety, love and affection. If I did not have these basic needs, then life would be a lot harder to live.
Safety and security from my parents help provide me with happiness and comfort, which help me get better when I do not feel good or safe. When I had a stomach ache, my mom would make seaweed soup with pork and read me a book in bed. When I had a toothache, she would take me to the dentist. If the dentist pulled two or more of my teeth out, my mom would treat me to ice cream, a popsicle or my favourite: a mango smoothie. If I don’t feel safe or secure, my parents will always step up for me, which makes me feel at home.
A home means love and affection because home makes me feel cared about and important. After losing in a soccer game, my dad would show me the mistakes I made and teach me moves in the basement to improve my game. The time we spend together makes me feel loved because it shows my dad wants me to grow and succeed. My dad puts in the effort to guide me to improve because he loves me very much. When I am unhappy, my parents hug me and talk to me about the things that are bothering me. They show me love and affection by being there for me when I am sad.
The most important things you need for a home are protection and love.
