What a Home Means to Me

A home means many things to me. A home can be a place that makes us feel comfortable and secure. A home does not need to be a physical structure. As long as people can find happiness, love, respect, and peace with their family and friends, I call that place a home. A home supplies the basic needs such as water, warmth, food, and shelter. Home is a place where we can be ourselves! We can dance and sing all day long. Comparing to other places, there are no restrictions at home. We can relax or we can do something fun and exciting. It is an ideal place for me to relax when I feel sad, tired and stressed out. I believe that home is a place where someone can find shelter, grow, laugh and learn. Unfortunately, many people have lost their homes, including the other basic needs, due to many reasons such as poverty, loss of jobs, natural disasters, or loss of family members. There are a lot of children in the world without a home. I feel very sad for them. Animals also need to have homes. A baby jaguar would stay in their “home” until their parents come with food. A shark lives in the “ocean,” but tigers live in “Rainforests. Animals' homes are also getting taken away, just like the Indigenous people homes. If my home were taken away from me, I would feel sad and disappointed. Therefore, home is a very valuable place where we can develop lifelong memories. There is no other place than home where I always want to spend most of my time with my family and friends. This is what a Home means to me!
