What a Home Is

This is a poem I wrote to say everyone should have a place to stay. Your home is a place where you feel like a king a place to keep everything you care about. A home can be new or old It keeps you safe from the cold. A home can be big or small or an apartment by the mall. A home can be almost anywhere Even by a volcano puffing smoke. It can be in the country or town near a shop or playground. Home is a safe place to be where you have fun with your family. Home has people and pets and things you love. At home I like warm hugs. At home we joke and laugh without a care while reading in a comfy chair. When I get home after a long day It’s a very nice and comfortable place to stay. Once in bed I lay down my head. I look and see books and toys and glow-in-the-dark stars. I’m happy I have a place to live. A home would be a great gift to give.
