My Home
After I was born, I was brought to a place called home.
I didn’t know how important this place would be for me,
But as I grew up and the experiences grew with me,
I realized how important a home is to me.
I learned to talk, learned to run,
I learned to be nice and to have fun.
We began to make memories that last forever,
Having fun with my family, staying together.
Home is where I was taught manners, appreciation and respect,
A place where I can be myself, and I don’t have to be perfect.
Home is a place that I can rely on when my day hasn’t been too good,
Where I can express myself without being judged.
I feel safe, loved and confident,
A place that makes me myself, with many accomplishments.
My family's arms reach for me, always there to give me a hug.
Praying before dinner thankful for our love,
Their smiles are lovingly thankful,
Faithful and Ready for another day to arrive.
As I go to bed, and see my peaceful dreams,
I think of those who need a home and how it must be.
Even though it is just a word,
Home Is the meaning of happiness and security for me.
