HOME MEANS FAMILY
Home means family to me
There is love and there always will be
Happiness and fun, and creativity
Home is a bakery, a zoo, a school
With dog hair and paw prints and dog drool
Barking and howling
Brothers shouting and jumping
Sitting in my room enjoying a book
Everyone knows where I am; they don’t have to look
Mum is stuffing broken dolls with fluff
Daddy is working on his camera stuff
Home is the place where I can be
Totally, completely and honestly me
Sometimes I'm painting and sometimes I craft
I remember how much my brothers laughed
When we watched that movie on a late summer night
Seeing movies together is always a delight
Standing outside to wave friends goodbye
After a long day and a very long sigh
Going canoeing in our grandparents' lake
Homemade paddles were never a mistake
Coming home after a very long day
Hiking in the woods and wishing to stay
The dogs are pooped but we'll never tire
From roasting marshmallows at the campfire
Because we love each other in this home
We'd never leave each other alone
Like when I'm shopping at the mall
Singing with my mom and not caring at all
And even when we're feeling down
We can turn a frown the right way 'round
I'm in Dad's car with my brothers on either side of me
Dad is driving so he turns up loud rock music crazily
And hockey games are Saturday
With practices the next day
Our grandparents come to watch us play the game
I have a feeling of pride; I'm so glad they came
We'll have takeout burgers with root beer
And see a new movie, so come on over here
Turn the television on and cuddle up close
This is my home: the place I love most
Home means family to me.
