The Meaning Of Home
The meaning of home can vary from person to person. But every answer is valid. Why? Because that’s what they consider home.
Home can mean something different to all of us. For some, it might mean a literal home, a house or an apartment— overall, a building constructed for living. They may not realize it, but for them, home is somewhere you feel safe. A safe haven, I suppose. You can relax knowing you’re in your home.
It’s a place you can wind down, talk with your family— a place filled with memories and laughter.
But home can also be a feeling.
It’s hard to explain, so I’ll go more into detail.
As I said, home is somewhere you can feel safe. At home, you have your family and loved ones. Your loved ones contribute to that safe atmosphere, because you feel at ease around them.
Even if you’re not physically at your house, or apartment, or wherever you live— wherever your family, or even a friend or someone you trust is, you’ll feel safe. Calm. Happy.
Just like how you would feel in your home.
You could be at a friend's house, and feel at home. Maybe because you feel safe and happy, or because of the people around you. Maybe it’s because it’s a nice environment.
That’s why home can be a feeling.
I believe that home is wherever you feel free, at ease, or happy. And wherever your loved ones are.
Because the memories you share and the people around you— are what makes home feel like home.
