Night Time

A house has a roof, walls, windows, bedrooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen. But I think what makes a house feel like a home is not the building, but the people, pets and the love inside it. This could be anywhere like the house you live in right now, or camping in nature, or even going on family trips. My house feels like a home the most after I eat dinner, brush my teeth and then go into my parents room. The room is filled with the scent of earthy flowers. The white duvet with black diamonds looks very comfy, cozy, and warm. My sister and I run and jump into the soft bed with mom and dad. We all snuggle close and give each other warm cuddles. I feel happy, warm, safe, and calm. I feel Love. This is exactly where I belong. As we cuddle, we give each other tickles, tell silly jokes, hug, and talk about our day, but my favourite part is always the pillow fights. My dog Hugo gets so scared. We giggle and absolutely destroy my parents (beating them)! They always say that they're old and have back problems but, I know that’s their excuse for being a sore loser, or maybe they are just making sure we get a chance to win sometimes. Sometimes we watch a movie in bed while enjoying our company. It’s not the structure that makes my house feel like a home, but the cuddles, tickles, jokes, and the hugs. It’s the love that turns my house into a home, a place that makes you feel safe and where you belong in the world.
