Home Can be Anywhere

When you think of a home, you may think of a building with walls and pretty couches and an expensive tv. But home is much more than that. A home is a place where you feel safe, protected, loved, and happy. And a home does not have to be the place you live in, it could also be somewhere else. For example, I have two homes. The place I live with my family and the rink. So let me tell you why they are my homes. My house is my home because I'm always making memories with my dad when we play board games and sing along to my favourite songs during car rides or when me and my mom spend the day baking cookies or getting our nails done and when me and my brother hangout playing games or watching movies. The rink is also my home because I feel free when I skate and happy. I make the best memories at the rink like when I forget to take my skate guards off and fall on the ice or when I do a new skill. And the rink also opens new opportunities to travel or meet new friends which I think a home should do. I'm sure you have multiple homes too. Maybe your home is the field if you want to play sports, or maybe it's the library if you love reading, or maybe it's kitchen if you want to be a chef. No matter where your home is, I'm sure it's amazing and although the textbook definition of a home is “the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household” and home is somewhere you feel happy, safe, protected, and loved!
