Meaning of Home

“Home” is not just a word, or plaster, or shingles. Home is a place to express yourself and feel safe and loved. Home is a safe place for me to feel embraced. Home is the smell of my mom’s expensive perfume, cookies in the oven, or just even that home-ish smell. Or maybe home is the sights. Home could be a pet, wandering around, or a family painting hanging in the stairwell. Home could also be a taste. It could be the taste of my dad’s juicy, red steak with sauteed mushrooms on top, or a soft, gentle liquorice tea. Home could be the feelings. Maybe the physical and emotional ones. The physical ones could be a fidget, for when I feel anxiety, and the emotional ones could be happy, sad, or mad, and most likely loved.
