The Happiness Home Brings Me

When I think of home I feel safe, like a warm blanket is being wrapped around me. When I think of home I see my family laughing around the table and talking about our days. The ups and the downs. When I picture home in my brain I see my room, I see the purple walls and white bed frame. I see my posters and my shelves, just thinking about them makes me feel comfortable and delighted. When I mention my home I feel my dog's fur sliding between my fingers. I love my dog and she loves me. In my house I hear the distant chatter of my dad and sister playing video games while my mom draws with me. When I hear the word home my mind shoots to my couch, the living room, the hot comfy fireplace, and my kitchen. If you walked into my house on fight night you would hear the sound of my family rooting for our favourite fighter. When I go to bed I feel safe in my walls, like nothing can touch me and nothing can frighten me. When I think of holidays I think of home and all of us hanging out together and playing games. In my home I feel free to be me. If you looked in my home you could just feel the love and the warm sensation of happiness. Another thing that home means to me is respect, respect, responsibility, understanding and most of all honesty and trust. Where I live and I am very, very grateful for it. There are no words that describe how thankful I am for a place to call home. I also thank Habitat for Humanity for giving people something they can call their own.
