The Meaning of Home
Home can mean many things. It can mean people, it can mean a building, it can mean memories, and it can mean much more. But no matter what or where your home is, it’s home.
In your home you might have sounds or smells that make you feel safe. Or a person or people who make you feel loved.
Your home might be a place to curl up and relax after a long day, or your home could be people who make you feel happy.
A house and a home can be very different. A house is a building, and a home is somewhere or someone that makes your worries melt away. Home is a place to call your own, and feel safe and loved.
You might think of home as a building, but home is wherever you feel at home. That could be the place where you live, or a place where you visit often.
Home for me, is my family. But it might be different for you. Home is where I feel safe, and happy, cared for and loved. It’s a place I can feel like myself and be who I am, through and through. And everybody should have that. That’s why I'm happy my class is supporting and donating money to Habitat for humanity. So at some point, everyone can have a safe, loving, home.
