My Home
My home is everything but perfect. We fight a lot, but we always forgive and forget.
Everyday my family is making awesome new memories.
Holidays are always a special time, but when a close family member passed a few days before Christmas,
my house got cold, sad, and dark. We all got through it together.
Now, when I think of home, I think of happy things, such as; family game night and our trips to Mexico.
If I were to explain my home or family in just a few words,
I would say, “Anything warm and welcoming.”
One of my favourite times of the day is when we all sit down by the dinner table and talk about our days.
My older brother has always been annoying, but I love him more than anything.
In the summer, I would swim with him in our pool.
It wouldn’t always finish with a happy ending,
but now those are memories that we can laugh over together.
It is such a privilege to have a loving family, a dog, and three amazing, healthy grandparents.
Night time has always been chaotic. I can’t seem to figure out why. My brother and I just seem to like getting dopamine
and pushing each other’s buttons.
When I’m trying to brush my teeth, my brother will be flexing in the mirror.
I feel at home in many places. I even felt at home in Mexico.
Because I was with my family. Everything I just
wrote may seem like a story, but all of that silliness, sadness, emptyness, or love, all leads back to home. My home. That I love more than anything. When the mood feels low at home, a little ice-cream and a family movie night can fix anything.
