The Meaning of Home

The meaning of home for me is when love and laughter fills the air or when tears of joy fill the floor. Or when care and confidence fills the living room. When I'm home I feel safe and joyful. I have the most fun when im home. A house is where the furniture sits on the floor or when you go home and no one is there. A house is also a building that just sits in the ground hopeless and tired of sitting in that spot and not getting to explore. A home is a picture that everyone loves with all of their heart. It's the smell of the kitchen and the home cooked meals that come out of the oven. A home is also a place where hugs mean everything and if you're having a bad day you can't wait to get home just to get one. A house is a place where you have to be and a home is where you want to be. I have two homes, a home where I sleep every night and a home where I cheer. I love my home and I accept my house. There is a difference. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for making people have a home where they feel safe and not just a house that they are forced to live in.
