home is not just a place
Home is not just a place. It's where I feel safe, loved, and happy. Home is where you can not just survive, but thrive. For so long I thought that home was a building, but now I know that home can be a city. It can be an apartment. It can even be a country. But no matter where home is for you, it's not a home if you don't feel safe.
My family used to live in Toronto. We lived in an apartment. I was too young to remember but my parents tell me that they love our home even more. When we moved here my parents planted a tree at the side of our house, kind of as a memory. Now our home is a place to celebrate occasions, and gather our family as the delicious smells of a feast fill the hallways. My home is a place to make new memories, and celebrate the old ones.
Home is not just a place. It's where you feel safe, loved, and happy.
