What Does "Home" Mean to Me

Home means lots of things to me! But here are a few things that remind me of my home. Home is the smell of chlorine from our pool in the summer as my sisters and I dry ourselves, and eat freezies. Home is the smell of fresh flowers in our garden, and mom drenching us by watering them. Home is the smell of different types of meals including lasagna, and garlic bread made by dad. Home is the roughness of our almost broken trampoline that me and my sisters love to play on. Home is the roughness of my cat's tongue as I drift off to bed. Home is the roughness of playing outside picking clovers with my sisters for hours, as our parents cook dinner, and cut watermelon. Home is the itch of cat fur going up my nose, as I pet, and pet my cat. Home is the itch of grass on my arms, legs, and neck as I gaze up at the clouds in the backyard, but my back gets a little red because my skin gets irritated. Home is the itch of sweat going down my back, after playing soccer in the front yard with the neighborhood kids. Home is a place to be yourself and have fun! Now, think about what home might mean to you. And, thank you Habitat For Humanity for hosting such a wonderful program every year.
